Benjamin Franklin said, “We hear only half of what is said to us…understand only half of that…believe only half of that…and remember only half of that.” Why? We do not know or understand our audience’s perspective and thus they do not receive the message as we intended. Even worse, we often think that they did and this comes back to haunt us later.
